Melvin Wheaton is a loving Husband to his wife Brandy; Father to Julian, Olivia and Ashlyn, and Pastor who is Ordained with The Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada. Melvin has been playing guitar since he was 6, writing songs since he was 13 and singing for as long as he can remember. Growing up, Melvin’s dad was a Journeyman Welder and he took his family on the “journey” with him where the work was. Because of this, Melvin has lived in various places of Newfoundland, in Saint John, New Brunswick; Edmonton, Alberta and now he resides in Lockeport, Nova Scotia where he Pastors a couple of Baptist churches, and he drives school bus as needed.
Melvin has a heart to see individual Christians and churches thrive, and work together. Melvin wants them to think and go outside of the walls of the buildings they meet in and reach their communities and full potential in ways that may go against tradition. One part of Breakin’ Out Productions is being able to help churches and other ministries fulfill their big dreams. Melvin has experience organizing events with main stream artists.
Over the past few years, Melvin has witnessed, experienced and seen God move with ordinary, everyday miracles. God has provided everyday items, sometimes at the very last minute, for Melvin and his family. God has opened doors beyond our dreams, provided housing, employment, food, finances, especially when all seemed lost. Melvin can testify to God’s goodness, timing and love. These experiences have helped Melvin break out.
Melvin dreams big, but keeps the dream realistic. One of his dreams was fulfilled in the fall of 2015, as Melvin headed into the recording studio and recorded his first album of his own songs. These songs reflect Melvin’s heart and desire to see God move, release the Holy Spirit and draw His Church together in Christ. The way that this ministry has all come together is just incredible and Melvin is looking forward to trusting God and believing God has great things in store for the Wheaton’s.
