It's Official--I'm now Reverend Melvin John Wheaton

Well, I've been kind of slow on this and not as scheduled as I thought I would be, but I guess better late than never.

May was a very busy month, on May 2nd I flew off to Montreal for PAOC's General Conference. It was themed Vitality and boy it was fantastic. A couple of thousand ministry people from all across Canada. The worship times were phenomenal, oh if I could only... envy's a sin right? Maybe I'll stop right there!

Anyway, I flew back to reality--Nova Scotia--on May the 5th and was only home a couple of days and then I was off again for Pre-Ordination training in Truro. That was 2 days of some very cool information and leadership training. I got back home on Friday night and Saturday headed off to New Brunswick for a short visit with some family and friends before heading to our Maritime District Conference which was held in Moncton from May 16-18. It was at this conference on May 17th in the evening service that I received my Ordination into Christian Ministry. This was an incredible experience, I've known since I was about 13 (my mom said she knew from the time I was about 5 years old) that I would be in ministry and to have my peers in ministry recognize my calling and offer me Ordination.

To look back at where I have been, and to see where I currently am, I cannot help but be very excited for what the future holds. God is so good, his mercies truly are new every morning.

One last thing before I go, for the month of June, through my website only, there is a special on my CD. 3 for the price of 2--shipping included. If you haven't gotten your CD yet or would like some to give to a friend, pop on over and get some today. This special won't last forever.

Be blessed, but don't keep it to yourself, be a blessing to others!

CD Released

Greetings everybody, Happy 2016, and all that Jazz. Well, last Wednesday, January 6, it was my 38th birthday and it certainly was one for the history books. I had a fantastic day and in the evening I released my debut CD, 'Lord, Set Your People on Fire'.

A friend of mine did a write up for the local paper, here's what she had to say about the evening:

It was a night of music, stories and fellowship at First Ragged Islands Baptist Church on January 6 as Melvin John Wheaton released his debut CD, “Lord, Set Your People on Fire”.

More than 40 people attended the event to hear Wheaton and the Breakin’ Out band perform songs from the CD as well as some popular gospel numbers. A talented songwriter and musician, Wheaton has been writing music since he was 13. The most emotional moment of the night came when he performed “The Age of 24”, a song from his CD and a loving tribute to his brother Michael, who died of cancer in 2005.

“Lord, Set Your People on Fire” is available at www.breakinout.ca (where you will also find Melvin’s contact information), iTunes, Google Play and Amazon.ca. Written by: Shelby Kelly

Simply amazing, I must say. I am looking forward to what God has in store in 2016 and where this journey will take. I tend to wander a lot, so I am very thankful for Bilbo Baggin's saying, "Not all those who wander are lost." I do not feel lost, even though I often wonder where I am.

Be blessed, wishing you much happiness, joy and success in 2016. Take Care, Melvin

Some New Things

Well, there is a lot happening right now. In a couple of weeks I'll be heading to the recording studio to record my debut CD. I have a new website, breakout.ca that went live a few days ago--still working out some bugs with it, but over all it is running fantastic thanks to Matthew Thompson and Ghost Fire Media. I am in the process of beginning to register Breakin' Out Production as a legit business--donations greatly appreciated, for this, but are not tax deductible at this time.

God has been opening door after door lately, and it is very exciting. There are times I'm not sure how I get everything done and then there are other times I'm not sure if I'm doing enough or should be busier than I am. Oh well, I guess it'll all work out as it comes together.

Philippians 4:13 says, "I can do all things through Christ, who gives me strength."

I'll try and remember to keep you updated as I move along. Please be patient with me, I'm not that great at keeping up with this blog thing, but, hopefully in the near future I'll get better at it. Thanks for your time, don't forget to check out my new website and Facebook page--Breakin' Out Productions.

I look forward to seeing you again real soon. Blessings everyone and cheers.
